District heating

District heating operations were connected to Ruukin Yrityspuisto Oy from early 2015 in accordance with an amendment to the Local Government Act (23.8.2013/626).

The following three heating plants in the Siikajoki municipal area are managed by Ruukin Yrityspuisto Oy

1. The Paavola heating plant
2. The Ruukki heating plant
3. The Siikajoki heating plant

Significant factors affecting the price of district heating are the price of energy and taxation practices on energy used. The prices of the types of energy used in the heating plants have remained relatively stable, so the price of district heating provided in the Siikajoki municipal area has also stayed reasonable.

PRICING OF DISTRICT HEATING

The pricing of district heating is based on three tariff-based fees:

1. A connection fee, which is a one-off fee paid by the client when they join the district heating network. This is determined in accordance with a tariff based on the client’s contract water flow. The connection fee includes the construction of a 20-metre connection pipe. Any length in excess of 20 metres will increase the connection fee by realised construction costs, which will be invoiced separately.

2. The basic fee is an annual fixed tariff-based fee that is determined based on the client’s contract water flow. It is charged in instalments by invoicing period.

3. The energy fee is a tariff-based fee that is charged for energy consumed in accordance with readings from a meter installed in the property. The fee is based on the unit price.
