CONFERENCE AND TRAINING FACILITIES

The business service centre has excellent facilities for conferences, meetings and training, plus Ruukin Yrityspuisto Oy’s administrative building. The business park’s current operating, warehouse and production space of almost 28,000 square metres can quickly be increased as necessary. ABOUT THE BUSINESS PARK

Ruukki Business Park is located in an area of natural beauty in the Ruukki district of the municipality of Siikajoki. Due to its good transport connections, the area has been used for industrial purposes since the late 17th century. The Siikajoki river that flows through the municipality has long been an important transport route and resource. Over the years, the area has seen several owners, each of which left their personal mark. The oldest buildings still in use date back to the 1950s and have been respectfully restored. In them, modern data networks combine with beautiful old building stock.

The business park always operates on a client-oriented basis with premises tailored to meet clients’ needs. The business park also builds new premises via rental or redemption agreements. As our client base expands, we have built new premises almost every year over the last decade. We now have around 28,000 square metres of premises in total. In addition to industrial and office spaces of all sizes, the business park also has meeting, conference, and training facilities available to hire. A range of businesses offering corporate services operate in the area, including an electrical company and a restaurant that is open on weekdays.

Goods imports and exports

The business park’s excellent logistical location means your business can handle imports and exports with ease. A section of railway that runs from the north to the south of the country passes through the municipality of Siikajoki. One of the stations is in central Siikajoki.

Rapid cross-border connections by sea and air can easily be organised. The business park is just 35 kilometres away from the Port of Raahe, one of Finland’s largest ports.

The Oulunsalo international airport is 55km northeast from Ruukki. Small planes can land in Pattijoki, just 25km from the business park. Finnish national road 8 runs through the municipality, guaranteeing flexibility for road transport. Heavy goods traffic at the business park is directed along a dedicated transport route. Other traffic, meanwhile, uses another dedicated route.

Energy saving in the area

The Ruukki Business Park area is designed to keep clients’ electricity and heating costs as low as possible. District heating is implemented cost-efficiently by means of an on-site thermal power station that utilises biofuels. The business park owns the power network in its area and sells the electricity used to its clients. As a major purchaser, Ruukki Business Park is able to sell electricity at a far more affordable price than the surrounding area. Business that are high energy users will find it particularly affordable to invest in Ruukki Business Park.

Telecommunications connections in the area

A broadband connection is available in all of Ruukki Business Park’s office and production premises. A fibreoptic cable allows for data transfer speeds of up to 100 megabits per second. Each client can conclude a separate agreement on the broadband connection based on their own individual needs.

A LONG INDUSTRIAL HISTORY

The business park is built on a strong foundation of entrepreneurship, which can be seen in the park’s appearance: the business park makes use of decades-old building stock. This gives the area a unique character and individual appearance.

Operating, production and warehouse buildings renovated to meet modern needs stand alongside new ventures. The business park’s history dates back to over 300 years ago, when Per Brahe took advantage of Ruukki’s prime location and established a potash factory in the area in the 17th century. The area has since been home to entrepreneurs from Risto Ryti to Ahlström Oy. Ruukin Yrityspuisto Oy was established in 1993.
